A great little off road cycling track is located at the army base on Phahonyothin road, opposite soi 49 and soi 51. You will have to leave some ID with the army guards at the entrance and the bike track is short drive through the army grounds at the back of the complex. You can park your car near the restaurant and BB gun area and from here cycle a couple of hundred metres to the start of the trail. The price is 100 THB for non members to use the bike trail or if you are a member (300 THB per year) the price is 50 THB.
Although short at around 3km the track has been well designed with lots of banked corners, jumps and hills to test your mountain biking skills. A lot of concentration is needed as you weave in and out of the trees whilst avoiding various obstacles such as sand traps, ponds, tree roots and ditches. The track is quite well known but you may end up being the only person using the track allowing you to relax at your own pace, on occasions though you will see people pushing as hard as possible to beat their personal best times!
It is short enough to complete fairly quickly but maybe people simply do a few laps and change the route to make it more interesting. In terms of getting a quick mountain biking fix in Bangkok it is hard to beat Club 11. Back towards the car park you can wash your bike off and there is a small restaurant to relax, there are also showers to clean up before you head home.
